Why was modernization needed?

The demand for Internet and digital services in Uzbekistan has grown rapidly: more mobile Internet, online services, video communication, and remote learning. The old equipment could no longer handle the load, so Uztelecom decided to upgrade the country’s telecommunications backbones to provide fast and stable broadband Internet access for millions of users.

Key Achievements

Backbone network development.
A new core network was built based on modern DWDM/IP/MPLS technologies. This made it possible to increase capacity — transmitting more data at high speed — and ensure more stable connectivity. The network is now ready for the growth of users and the emergence of new services.
Equipment Supply and Integration                                                                                   
Operating such a network requires not only cables and servers but also numerous additional systems — power supply, air conditioning, and measuring instruments. All of these were delivered and integrated into a unified system to ensure the network’s uninterrupted operation for many years to come.
Microwave Line Modernization
The microwave equipment was upgraded — old backbone lines were replaced with new ones. This ensured connectivity to the enclaves located within the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
IMS Switching Center Upgrade
The call and traffic management center based on IP technology, replacing the traditional long-distance telephone exchange, was modernized. This improved interoperability between operators and laid the groundwork for new modern IP-based services. Automatic telephone exchanges were also upgraded.

Inverson Technologies served as the lead integrator of the project. We took responsibility for the most critical areas of work:

Results
Upon project completion, Uztelecom gained a modern network that:

• Can transmit data at much higher speeds (capacity increased several times);
• Provides higher-quality voice communication;
• Is more resilient to load and failures;
• Is ready for the implementation of new digital services and further growth in user numbers.

This project strengthened Uztelecom’s position as the country’s leading telecom provider. For Inverson Technologies, it became an example of how modern solutions enable the development of digital infrastructure and open new opportunities for millions of users in Uzbekistan.
